The base of Borobudur, called Kamadhatu, symbolizes human being that are still bound by lust. The upper four stories are called Rupadhatu symbolizing human beings that have set themselves free from lust but are still bound to appearance and shape. On this terrace, Buddha effigies are placed in open space; while the other upper three terraces where Buddha effigies are confined in domes with wholes are called Arupadhatu, symbolizing human beings that have been free from lust, appearance and shape. The top part that is called Arupa symbolizes nirvana, where Buddha is residing.

Each terrace has beautiful relief panels showing how skillful the sculptors were. In order to understand the sequence of the stories on the relief panels, you have to walk clockwise from the entrance of the temple. The relief panels tell the legendary story of Ramayana. Besides, there are relief panels describing the condition of the society by that time; for example, relief of farmers’ activity reflecting the advance of agriculture system and relief of sailing boat representing the advance of navigation in Bergotta (Semarang).

All relief panels in Borobudur temple reflect Buddha’s teachings. For the reason, this temple functions as educating medium for those who want to learn Buddhism. To suggests that you walk through each narrow passage in Borobudur in order for you to know the philosophy of Buddhism. Atisha, a Buddhist from India in the tenth century once visited this temple that was built 3 centuries before Angkor Wat in Cambodia and 4 centuries before the Grand Cathedrals in Europe.

Thanks to visiting Borobudur and having supply of Buddha teaching script from Serlingpa (King of Sriwijaya), Atisha was able to improve Buddha’s teachings after his return to India and he built a religion institution, Vikramasila Buddhism. Later he became the leader of Vikramasila monastery and taught Tibetans of practicing Dharma. Six scripts from Serlingpa were then summarized as the core of the teaching called “The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment” or well known as Bodhipathapradipa.

A question about Borobudur that is still unanswered by far is how the condition around the temple was at the beginning of its foundation and why at the time of it’s finding the temple was buried. Some hypotheses claim that Borobudur in its initial foundation was surrounded by swamps and it was buried because of Merapi explosion. It was based on Kalkutta inscription with the writing ‘Amawa’ that means sea of milk. The Sanskrit word was used to describe the occurrence of disaster. The sea of milk was then translated into Merapi lava. Some others say that Borobudur was buried by cold lava of Merapi Mountain.

With the existing greatness and mystery, it makes sense if many people put Borobudur in their agenda as a place worth visiting in their lives. Besides enjoying the temple, you may take a walk around the surrounding villages such as Karanganyar and Wanurejo. Al-Qur’an Untuk Orang Hidup

Al Qur’an diturunkan Alloh Ta’ala kepada Nabi Muhammad shollallohu’alaihi wa sallam sebagai petunjuk, rahmat, cahaya, kabar gembira dan peringatan. Maka kewajiban orang-orang yang beriman untuk membacanya, merenungkannya, memahaminya, mengimaninya, mengamalkan dan berhukum dengannya. Hikmah ini tidak akan diperoleh seseorang yang sudah mati. Bahkan mendengar saja mereka tidak mampu. “Sesunggguhnya kamu tidak dapat menjadikan orang-orang mati itu mendengar.” (Terjemah An-Nahl:80)
Alloh Ta’ala juga berfirman di dalam surat Yasin tentang hikmah tersebut yang artinya, “Al-Qur’an itu tidak lain hanyalah pelajaran dan kitab yang memberi penerangan supaya dia memberi peringatan kepada orang-orang yang hidup” (Yasin:69-70). Alloh berfirman yang artinya,”Sesungguhnya seseorang itu tidak akan menanggung dosa seseorangyang lain dan bahwasanyamanuasia tidak akan memperoleh ganjaran melainkan apa yang telah ia kerjakan.” (An-Najm:38-39).
Berkata Al-Hafizh Imam Ibnu Katsir rohimahulloh: “Melalui ayat yang mulia ini, Imam Syafi’i rohimahulloh dan para pengikutnya menetapkan bahwa pahala bacaan (Al-Qur’an)dan hadiah pahala tidak sampai kepada orang yang mati, karena bacaan tersebut bukan dari amal mereka dan bukan usaha mereka. Oleh karena itu Rosululloh shollallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam tidak pernah memerintahkan umatnya, mendesak mereka untuk melakukan perkara tersebut dan tidak pula menunjukan hal tersebut (menghadiahkan bacaan kepada orang yang mati) walaupun hanya dengan sebuah dalil pun.”

Adapun dalil-dalil yang menunjukan keutamaan surat Yasin jika dibaca secara khusus tidak dapat dijadikan hujjah. Membaca surat Yasin pada malam tertentu, saat menjelang atau sesudah kematian seseorang tidak pernah dituntunkan oleh syariat Islam. Bahkan seluruh hadist yang menyebutkan tentang keutamaan membaca Yasin tidak ada yang sahih sebagaimana ditegaskan oleh Imam Ad Daruquthni.

Islam telah menunjukan hal yang dapat dilakukan oleh mereka yang telah ditinggal mati oleh teman, kerabat atau keluarganya yaitu dengan mendoakannya agar segala dosa mereka diampuni dan ditempatkan disurga Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala. Sedangkan jika yang meninggal adalah orang tua, maka termasuk amal yang tidak terputus dari orang tua adalah do’a anak yang sholih karena anak termasuk hasil usaha seseorang semasa di dunia.

Biar Sederhana Yang Penting Ada Tuntunannya

Jadi, tidak perlu repot-repot mengadaka kenduri, yasinan dan perbuatan lainnya yang tidak ada tuntunannya dari Rosululloh shollallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Bahkan apabila dikaitkan dengan waktu malam Jum’at, maka ada larangan khusus dari Rosullallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam yakni seperti yang termaktub dalam sabdanya, “Dari Abu Hurarah, dari Nabi shollallohu’alaihi wa sallam: Janganlah kamu khususkan malam Jum’at untuk melakukan ibadah yang tidak dilakukan pada malam-malam yang lain.“(HR. Muslim)
Bukankah lebih baik beribadah sedikit namun ada dalilnya dan istiqomah mengerjakannya dibanding banyak beribadah tapi sia-sia? Rosululloh shollallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda,”Barangsiapa yang beramal yang tidak ada tuntunannya dari kami, maka ia tertolak.“(HR.Muslim)

General Electricity safety tips:

* Keep up to date.
Always keep your home wiring record up to date. As the needs arise, it’s important that your
electricity system is capable of handling these changes.

* Inspect regularly.
Whether indoor or outdoor, inspect cords and plugs regularly and replace damaged one.

* Don’t overload.
Overloading means overheating and that could cause damage or fire. Also do not exceed the
recommended wattage.

* Extension cords are for temporary use.
If you must use the extension cord, make sure it is of the right capacity for the tools or
equipments. Keep slack in flexible cords to prevent tension on electrical terminals.

* Water and electricity do not mix.
Remember the water and our body are excellent conductors of electricity. If working in wet
surface, make sure the tools are equipped with circuit breakers and your body is well protected
by wearing rubber boots.

* Lock out accidents.
Whenever a repair is in place, unplug tools and equipments from the electricity source. Always
follow the lockout, tagout and grounding procedure to avoid accident.

* Wear protective clothing.
Always use insulated tools in areas where there are possible electrical hazards.

* Safety with tools.
Immediately remove tools in appliances for service if it causes shock, smokes, emits strange
odours, sparks or otherwise operate in suspicious manner.

If an accident happens, stay calm and think wisely.

- Should someone is injured by electricity, do not touch them before you sure that their body is
out of contact with electricity.

- Look for an insulator or insulated type material eg. wooden pole/stick, rubber to break the
contact the body and the electric source.

- Assess the severity inflicted, apply immediate rescue procedures if applicable otherwise seek
medical assistance immediately.

- Inform the person incharge of the accident and request for the electric supply at that particular
area to be cut off instantly

- Have the affected wiring, equipment or tools throughly checked by qualified electrician before
work can be resume.
